Gardenia Aisek was the seventh child, close to her father, and excelled in school. She earned a Master’s in Business Administration, taught at colleges in Chuuk and Saipan, and managed the Blue Lagoon Resort. She became the first woman Director of Education in Chuuk, implementing a controversial reform plan. Motivated by a desire for change, she ran for Senate, becoming the first woman elected to the House of Senate in Chuuk. Key achievements include being the first woman on the Board of Regents for the College of Micronesia and implementing the Chuuk Education Reform Plan.
