Following the election by the legislature of Hon. Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa as Tonga’s new Prime Minister in September 2019, Dr. Ámelia Tuípulotu was appointed as the Minister for Health, as part of the new Cabinet.

Previously, Dr. Tuípulotu headed the nurse training at Vaiola Hospital in Tonga.
