Te-Hani Brown, born in 1996 in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, is a prominent political figure. The daughter of MP Rose Toki-Brown, she made history by becoming the youngest Member of Parliament in the Pacific region at the age of 22 when she was first elected in the 2018 election as a candidate for the Cook Islands Democratic Party, defeating Nandi Glassie.Despite facing challenges due to anti-party hopping laws, Brown has persevered in her political career. Following her resignation from the Democratic party to support the government of Henry Puna, she successfully contested subsequent by-elections as an independent candidate, maintaining her seat in Parliament. Her dedication to public service was further recognized when she was appointed Associate Minister of Internal Affairs and Health under the administration of Prime Minister Mark Brown. In the 2022 Cook Islands general election, she was re-elected, continuing her support for Mark Brown’s government.
