Bio

The Honorable Freda Tuki Rangirei was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Temotu Vatud Constituency in 2014. During her first term, she was sworn in as the Minister for Rural Development under the Democratic Coalition for Change Government, led by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare. Later, within the same administration, she was appointed as the Minister for Women, Youth, Children, and Family Affairs.

In the 2018 National General Election, Honorable Freda Tuki was reelected for a second term. Under the Democratic Coalition for Government Advancement, again, led by Prime Minister Sogavare, she retained her role as Minister for Women, Youth, Children, and Family Affairs. She secured another reelection in the 2024 National General Election, continuing in the same ministerial position.

Before venturing into politics in 2014, Honorable Freda Tuki acquired her academic credentials, earning a Certificate in Secretarial Studies in 1995, a Diploma in International Relations and Politics in 2021, and completing an Executive Mini MBA program in 2024.

Her professional careers from 1999 to 2025 include:
