Bio

Honourable Teima Onorio is a longstanding Member of the Opposition in Kiribati’s House of Assembly, having served since 1998. She held the position of Vice President for three consecutive terms and has represented the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) at the United Nations, advocating for climate change action.Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and advanced studies in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Before her political career, she worked as an English teacher and held various roles in education administration. Throughout her career, Honourable Onorio has demonstrated a commitment to education and governance, making significant contributions to both sectors in Kiribati.
