Tetangi Matapo, a member of the Cook Islands Democratic Party, has been a dedicated politician in the Cook Islands Parliament since her election in 2013. With a background in education, including a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of the South Pacific, she has brought her expertise to her role as a parliamentarian. Throughout her tenure, Tetangi Matapo has actively participated in various parliamentary activities, including representing her constituency at the Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Wellington, New Zealand.Despite facing electoral challenges, she has continued to serve her constituents diligently, being re-elected in both the 2018 and 2022 Cook Islands general elections. As the Democratic Party spokesperson for Business, Trade and Investment Board, Education, and Justice, she advocates for the interests of her constituents and contributes to meaningful change within the Cook Islands political landscape.
